Team VOM
Lars Monsen
Lars Monsen, born in 1963 in Oslo, is a teacher by profession, but has been a full-time adventurer since 1991. He has spent more than 5,000 nights in a sleeping bag, half of these north of the Arctic Circle during the winter.
He has written around twenty books, created about ten TV series and given several hundred lectures. Today, Lars runs Femund Lodge, a course and accommodation provider based on simple outdoor life and Leave No Trace principles.
Lars has had dogs throughout his entire life; he grew up with three German Shepherds, but in the 80s he got his first arctic dogs. He started with long-distance competitive dog sledding in 2007, and since then has driven the Iditarod – the world's longest sled dog race – three times, as well as the Finnmarksløpet and Femundløpet many times. Lars is among the Norwegian dog mushers who have competed in the most long-distance sled dog races.
Ever since the start of his dog-mushing career, Lars has collaborated with VOM dog food.

«The good cooperation with VOM is not just about people being pleasant and reliable, but first and foremost about the product itself being top-class – that is, the dog food – and it is. That is one of the main reasons why the collaboration has lasted for all these years. I am convinced that the dogs have performed better because they have had the best food.»
