VOM has been a feed manufacturer in Norway for a full 25 years, and through the years we have closely followed developments in livestock production. The increased focus on efficiency, sustainability and animal welfare has contributed to positive changes in both the feeding and breeding of production animals – factors that affect the nutrient content of the meat, and therefore also the raw materials we use.
As a natural consequence of this, we see the need to adjust the nutrition declaration in our products. Natural variations in the nutritional content of raw materials occur, but over time it is necessary to adjust the nutrition declaration so that it better reflects the current nutritional composition. In essence, this involves an adjustment of the values for fat, protein and energy across our entire product range. It is important to emphasise that these are value-based adjustments that do not involve a change in the recipes. Such adjustments are part of our continuous quality work, to ensure that the product always maintains a high standard of quality.
Premix change – optimal composition
We add a vitamin and mineral premix to our products to ensure a balanced nutritional profile. Although the inclusion rate is very low, the premix plays an important role in complementing the nutritional content of the raw materials. In connection with the aforementioned value adjustments, we have also implemented a change to the vitamin and mineral premix. Essentially, this change is an adjustment of the proportions between already existing ingredients.
Transition phase
There will be a transitional phase where existing packaging is gradually phased out and replaced by new packaging with updated values. The replacement will take place on an ongoing basis, and the timing of the change will vary between our various products.

NEW AND IMPROVED TASTE – VOM HUNT
In combination with the aforementioned adjustments, a recipe change is also being carried out for our product VOM HUNT. The change involves the implementation of a new raw material – duck. A tasty and nutritious new addition that your dog will love!
New composition:
And (meat, skin and bone), offal from pigs, eggs, chicken gizzards, rice, salmon, minerals.
Why duck is a super ingredient:
- Gives loads of energy – and has a high fat content that gives extra fuel to active dogs
- Meat rich in iron - red meat contains more iron, which is important for the blood's ability to transport oxygen, and contributes to good blood health and better endurance
- High palatability – especially important for hunting dogs that can be poor eaters

Production of the new prescription will not begin until late summer 2025. We will return with the exact date.
Until then, VOM Hunt will be produced using the current recipe (without duck).
