VOM HUNT

– WE ARE LAUNCHING A NEW PRODUCT

Hunting dogs vary and are adapted to a wide range of different types of hunting, but they have several things in common: they work at varying intensities, and must be robust both physically and mentally. Alongside genetics and training, feeding forms an important part of the foundation for how well your hunting dog will perform. Therefore, to reach its full potential, the feed must be of the highest possible quality.

Many hunters have already discovered that their dog performs better with dog food from VOM, and after many requests and enquiries from our customers who hunt, we decided to develop a completely unique feed.

In collaboration with a number of high-profile and active hunters, we have tailored the ingredients and composition to the needs of the hunting dog, and tested several recipes through various seasons and types of hunting.

VOM Hunt is the top choice when choosing complete feed for your hunting dog. Both before and during the hunting season, but also the rest of the year.

Fast and correct energy for intense sessions

The hunting dog's work is characterised by varying intensity. At moderate intensity, fat is the dog's primary fuel. The dog has an enormous oxygen uptake, which enables it to efficiently convert fat into energy.

When the pace becomes high, for example during sprinting, the dog switches to anaerobic energy metabolism. In this zone, the fast muscle fibres take over, and these preferably use the same, rapid energy source as the brain and nervous system – namely glucose. The dog can produce glucose itself, but when the body's production cannot keep pace with consumption, the dog will quickly “hit the wall”. Supplying easily accessible glucose can help prevent this from happening.

I VOM Hunt has special consideration been given to this by including a small amount of starch in the form of rice. The starch is broken down into glucose during the digestion process, and can be used as quick energy for the brain and muscles. Too much starch can lead to a build-up of lactic acid and stiff muscles, but a low intake facilitates improved capacity, endurance and a sharpened focus.

Hand-picked ingredients for optimal effect

VOM Hunt made according to a carefully selected recipe, where the goal is for each ingredient to help the dog reach its full potential. Raw meat and offal make the food easily digestible, energy-dense and contribute to a vital and robust dog both inside and out.

The hunting dog has a special need for high-quality protein. Protein goes directly towards the development and maintenance of muscle, coat and paws, among other things, and contributes to effective recovery after intensive days. Raw meat and offal, together with boiled egg, make VOM Hunt rich in high-quality protein.

Thoughtful composition

The heart plays an important role by pumping blood that supplies tissues and cells with oxygen and nutrients. A healthy and efficient heart will therefore give the dog greater capacity and endurance. VOM Hunt contains specially added taurine-rich ingredients. Taurine is an essential amino acid for building and maintaining muscles, especially the heart muscle. Plenty of taurine can also contribute to a more efficient recovery.

The dog's musculature and enormous oxygen uptake make it a fantastic fat-burning machine, perfectly adapted to long periods of moderate activity. To work in harmony with this, we have used selected, easily digestible sources of fat. Fat has a high energy density, which makes it easy to consume enough energy so that the dog does not lose weight during tough periods.

The top choice for active dogs

The raw materials are rich in essential fatty acids such as omega-3 and omega-6. These fatty acids are important constituents of the body's cell membranes. An abundant supply of these fatty acids will be manifested in noticeably improved skin and paw pads, as well as a coat that insulates as it should.

VOM Hunt contains a blend of nature's own superfood, liver and kidneys. Liver and kidneys have a naturally high content of nutrients, such as B vitamins, folate, iron and copper, which are important, amongst other things, for the body to be able to make and use energy.

Use of Hunt – year-round

The activity level often varies throughout the year, but even during quiet periods will VOM Hunt be beneficial to give the dog. The dog becomes better at converting fat into energy, and the better the dog can utilise the energy found in the food, the more easily the dog can perform when it really counts.

When determining the amount of food your dog needs, we recommend starting with 2 % of your dog’s body weight per day. This corresponds to the average maintenance requirement, so you will need to experiment and adjust the amount according to your dog’s needs and activity level.

Adapt for your dog

All dogs are unique! Some dogs thrive on one meal per day, while other dogs thrive best on several meals a day. To learn what your dog thrives best with, we recommend testing different meal frequencies over a longer period.

During the hunt itself, we recommend starting the day with VOM Hunt mixed with water to help the dog maintain a good fluid balance. Where possible, the dog can be given smaller meals and water throughout the day. The largest meal should be given to the dog after the day has ended.

TIPS: If VOM Hunt Feeding quickly after hard exertion can contribute to a faster recovery for the dog.
